(TSX / STATS) -- Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring, the team announced Wednesday.

Kipnis is the third Indians' player to be placed on the disabled list in the last two days, joining All-Star reliever Andrew Miller (right knee tendinitis) and right-hander Danny Salazar (sore right elbow). Outfielders Michael Brantley (sprained right ankle) and Lonnie Chisenhall (strained right calf) and right-hander Josh Tomlin (strained left hamstring) are also nursing injuries.

The 30-year-old Kipnis, who is headed to the disabled list for the third time this season, had just returned two weeks ago from a month-long stint on the DL. He grounded out in the first inning of Tuesday's 9-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox and was replaced by a pinch hitter in the third.
